Privacy Policy

minino is local-first on purpose: the free app works entirely on your device, with no account and no tracking of your notes. This page explains — in plain language — exactly what data moves where, and only when you choose it.

Effective date: July 5, 2026 · Applies to the minino apps (use.minino.app and, when released, our desktop and mobile apps) and this website (minino.app). minino is operated by its founder, Galo Becerra ("we", "us"). Questions: galo.s.becerra@gmail.com.

The short version

  • Free tier: your notes never leave your device. No account, no upload, no content analytics. Your workspace is stored locally in your browser or device storage.
  • Everything that sends data anywhere is opt-in: creating an account, turning on cloud sync, or using AI features.
  • We don't sell your data, show ads, or train AI models on your notes.

Data you keep entirely on your device

Without an account, your journal, notes, tasks, pages, tags and settings are stored only in your device's local storage. We have no copy, no access, and no record that your workspace exists. This also means you are the only backup — if you clear your browser data or lose the device without enabling sync, that workspace can't be recovered by us.

If you add your own Claude API key ("bring your own key"), the key is stored locally on your device and requests go directly from your device to Anthropic — they never pass through our servers.

Data we process if you create an account

  • Account data: your email address and sign-in provider details (email/password or Google Sign-In), handled by Firebase Authentication (Google).
  • Synced workspace: if you sign in, your workspace is mirrored to our database (Google Cloud Firestore, hosted in the United States) so it can follow you across devices. It is encrypted in transit and at rest. It is not end-to-end encrypted: like most sync services, our systems can technically read stored content, and we access it only if needed to support you at your request or when legally required. If you want zero server access, stay on the local-only free tier.
  • Subscription status: whether your account has Pro, trial state and expiry — mirrored from our payment partners.
  • AI usage metering: a monthly counter of managed-AI actions (a number, not your content), used for the fair-use limit.

AI features

AI in minino runs only when you invoke it (for example, refining a note with "the Pounce").

  • Managed AI (Pro): the content of the note being refined and your answers to the interview questions are sent through our server to Anthropic (Claude) for processing, then returned to you. We don't store this content; brief fragments may appear transiently in error logs when a request fails. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, API data is not used to train their models.
  • Bring your own key: content goes directly from your device to Anthropic under your own account; we never see it.
  • Task-size inference (the paw badges) runs entirely on your device from your own history — nothing is sent anywhere.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Stripe (web) or by Apple/Google (mobile, when released), coordinated by RevenueCat. We never receive or store your full card details — we receive subscription status. RevenueCat assigns an anonymous identifier to your app installation (linked to your account ID if you sign in) to make purchases and restores work.

Service providers we rely on

Running minino means these providers process limited data on our behalf: Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting — server logs may include IP addresses), Anthropic (AI processing you invoke), RevenueCat and Stripe (billing), and Google Fonts (font delivery on this website and in the app, which involves your IP address like any web request). This website currently has no analytics; if we add any, it will be privacy-respecting, aggregate-level, and reflected here.

Retention & deletion

Local data is yours and under your control. Cloud data (account, synced workspace, subscription record, usage counter) is kept while your account exists. To delete your account and all synced data, email galo.s.becerra@gmail.com from your account email and we'll complete it within 30 days (in-app deletion is on the roadmap). Payment records are retained by the payment providers as required by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR in Europe, CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to processing. Email us and we'll honor these for everyone, not just where the law requires it. Note that for the free local tier there is usually nothing for us to export or delete — the data is only on your device.

Children

minino is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page, change the effective date, and note it in the app or by email for account holders. The current version always lives at minino.app/privacy.
